Dr Florence is a Consultant Medical Oncologist with the Singapore Oncology Consultants at Mt Elizabeth Hospital and Mt Alvernia Hospital. 

Dr Lim is a Member of Royal College of Physicians (UK and Member of Academy of Medicine in Singapore. She was put on Roll of Specialists International Medicine (Singapore) in 1991. She trained in Ludwig Institute of Cancer Research, Sydney, Australia.

She has served in a number of committees, including as chairman of the Scientific Committee for Hospice Care Update, Council Member of the Hospice Care Association, Vice-Chairman of the Singapore Nursing Board Education for the Post Basic Oncology Nursing Course. She is also a Committee Member for Pediatric & Medical Oncology Course and Internal Medicine Representative to Medical Advisory Board, Mt Elizabeth Hospital and in the committee of Asia-Pacific Congress of Cancer (1995). She has volunteered with the Medical Relief Team for Mt Pinatubo disaster in the Philippines in 1992.

Dr Lim has also published in peer reviewed journals on subjects ranging from the use of various chemotherapy drugs on different types of cancer, management of side effects of chemotherapy, Neurological Complications of Undifferentiated High Grade Lymphoma and the use of Targeted Therapy in Cancer.
